By this application, the applicant is seeking extension of time for the learned arbitrator to complete the arbitration proceedings and to pronounce the award. A copy of the application was served on the respondent.

It is stated in the application that after the learned arbitrator was appointed by an order dated 01.03.2021 passed by this Court in Arbitration Petition No.2 of 2020, the proceedings were undertaken by the learned arbitrator but due to the situation created by the Covid-19 pandemic, the hearings could not taken place on regular basis. 3.

It is stated that the process of recording evidence is already over before the learned arbitrator and the matter is now pending only for final arguments.

This Court is convinced that sufficient grounds are made out for granting an extension of time for the arbitrator to complete the proceedings.

Accordingly, the application is allowed. The learned arbitrator is granted time till 31.03.2023 to complete the proceedings and to pronounce the award.
