The record of the petition, particularly the school leaving certificate at "Exhibit C", page 14, reveals that the petitioner's father's religion is Christian. The vigilance report also shows that the petitioner's grandfather viz. Savleram (Anton) was buried and his last rites were performed as per the Christian religion. The said report further shows that the petitioner's uncle by name - Dilip has adopted Christian religion. In these circumstances, the finding of the caste scrutiny committee that the petitioner cannot be given benefit of Hindu (Mahar) caste cannot be disturbed.

Mr. Pawar, learned counsel for the petitioner, relied upon the school leaving certificate of Janardhan and Anna who are the uncles of the petitioner's father. The said certificates cannot come to the rescue of the petitioner inasmuch as the petitioner's father, grandfather and real uncle are shown to be belonging to the Christian religion. We do not find any error in the impugned order so as to enable us to interfere with the same in exercise of jurisdiction conferred upon this Court under Article 226 of the Constitution of India. The writ petition, accordingly, stands dismissed.
