Having heard this matter for some time, learned counsel and learned APP appearing for the respective parties agree for disposal of this petition in the following manner :

The petitioner is at liberty to apply afresh for issuance of arms license before the competent authority.

In the event, such an application is preferred by the petitioner within four weeks from today, the same shall be disposed of as expeditiously as possible and, in any case, within a period of eight weeks from the date of filing of the same, on its own merits and in accordance with law.

Since the petitioner is already discharged in proceedings arising out of CR Nos. 250 of 2004 and 252 of 20014 registered under Sections 66(1) B, 65(F) of the Bombay Police Act, same should not be the ground for rejection of the petitioner's application.
