Heard learned counsel for the parties.

By this petition, the petitioners seek expeditious disposal of the criminal appeal filed by the respondent-State as against the petitioners. Perused the papers. The original case is of the year 2007. On the conclusion of the trial, petitioners were acquitted of the offence with which they were charged. In 2014, respondent-State filed an appeal against acquittal in the Court of the learned Sessions Judge. In 2016, the learned SQ Pathan 1/2

wp.4886.18.15.doc Sessions Judge condoned the delay of two years caused in filing the said appeal.

Since the appeal is technically of the year 2014, the learned Sessions Judge to decide the said appeal being Criminal Appeal No. 27 of 2017 filed by the respondent-State, as expeditiously as possible and in any event, on or before 30th May 2020.

Petition is disposed accordingly.
