The applicant herein is apprehending arrest in Crime No. 179 of 2016 registered at Gobindgarh Mandi Police Station, Fategar Sahib District, State of Punjab under Sections 406, 420 and 120-B of Indian Penal Code. The applicant is residing at Mumbai with his mother-in-law. He had received intimation that Crime No. 179/2016 registered at Gobindgarh Mandi Police Station, Fategar Sahib (Punjab) for the offences punishable under Section 406, 420 and 120-B of Indian Penal Code. It is submitted that he desires to join the investigation at the said police station and, therefore, seeks transit bail.

Taking into consideration the affidavit filed by the present applicant and the material placed on record, applicant deserves to be granted transit bail for the period of four weeks in order to enable him to approach the said police station and cooperate with the investigation in Crime No. 179 of 2016, without going into the merits of the matter.

O R D E R

(i) The application is allowed.

(ii) In the event of arrest within the period of four weeks from today, the applicant be enlarged on bail on furnishing PR Bond in the sum of Rs. 15,000/- with one or more local solvent sureties in the like amount. (iii) The relief shall remain in force till 5.00 p.m. of 22nd February, 2017.

(iv) Application stands disposed of.
