Heard learned counsel (appointed) and learned APP. Prisoner sentenced on 3/5/2018 by the Additional Sessions Judge, City Civil Court, Greater Bombay with imprisonment of 4 years and to pay fine of Rs.500/- or in default to undergo 3 months simple imprisonment has approached this Court for reducing the punishment.

He is in jail since 2/3/2016.

Learned counsel (appointed) submits that from website he could not find any appeal preferred by the prisoner challenging conviction. 4.

Learned APP submits that in absence of challenge to conviction, this Court cannot in extraordinary jurisdiction reduce the quantum of punishment.

We accept the contention of learned APP. The petition is

Order be served upon the prisoner in jail.
