Rule is made returnable forthwith. With the consent of the parties, the Petition is taken up for fnal disposal at the stage of admission.

According to the learned counsel for the Petitioner, on the last date, charge was framed against the Petitioner by the

WP 4934-2018 (J).doc trial Court, however, affdavit-in-reply fled by the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Detection - 1, Crime Branch, Thane on 17.02.2023 shows that charge has been framed on 16.12.2022. It is pertinent to note here that charge-sheet has been fled against the Petitioner alongwith other co-accused before the MCOC Special Court on 08.12.2022. This only shows that within a period of eight days after the charge-sheet was fled that charge has been framed by the concerned Court against the Petitioner which is quite speedy way of conducting the trial. These developments serve as assurance to the Petitioner that the trial Court would do it's level best to conduct speedy trial of the Petitioner provided the Petitioner and other co-accused co-operate with the trial Court. Thus, there is no need to give any further directions.

In view of the above, the Petition is disposed of. Rule is made absolute.
