The learned counsel for the applicant submits that in the present case, in August 2016, the documents were submitted as contemplated under Section 294 of Cr.P.C. since there is no progress in the trial and the applicant appears to be in custody since 3rd April, 2015. In view of this, the learned Special Court, NDPS,is hereby requested to make every endeavour to expedite the trial and conclude the recording of evidence, as far as possible, within eight months from today. It is made clear that the application has not been heard on merits. 2.

With these directions, the application stands disposed of. 3.
