This is an application received from jail for expeditious disposal of Sessions Case No. 5 of 2013, pending on the file of the Addl. Sessions Judge, Sangli.

Heard Mrs. Shah learned Counsel appointed to represent the applicant and the learned APP for the State. The report received from the Addl. Sessions Judge, Sangli reveals that the applicant is facing trial for offences under Section 376, 506 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 3(1)(x) and 3(2)(v) of the Scheduled Castes and pps
3 appln 831-15.doc Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. The applicant is in custody since the year 2013. The report indicates that the case was committed on 6.5.2013. Till 2015 the prosecution has not produced the muddemal property before the court. The report further indicates that the prosecution has also not produced list of witnesses to be summoned. The report reveals that the hearing of the said case is delayed as the prosecution has not taken effective steps. 3.
The Investigating Officer as well as the Prosecution is directed to take effective steps and to ensure commencement of the trial as expeditiously as possible. The learned Sessions Judge is directed to dispose of the case as expeditiously as possible and in any event within the period of one year from the date of receipt of this order. 4.
The application stands disposed of with above observations. .
Copy of this order be served upon the applicant through the Suptd. of Jail.
