The relief which is sought by way of the above Petition is a direction to the Respondent No.2 to consider the representation dated 18/09/ 2017 and 20/09/2017 submitted by the Petitioner expeditiously and preferably within a period of four weeks from date.

By the said representation the Petitioners are seeking direction for action to be taken u/s 83 of the Maharashtra Cooperative Societies Act. The learned AGP Mrs.Thakur states that having regard to the provisions of section 83 such an enquiry can be sought only by the number of members which are mentioned in the said provision.

In our view, it is not necessary for us to go into the said aspect, as it would be open for the Respondent No.2 to deal with the said representation and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law. We make it clear that we have expressed no opinion in that regard.

With the directions as aforesaid, the Writ Petition is disposed of.
