Learned Government Pleader is present and has referred to the Maharashtra Ordinance No. IX OF 2016 promulgated by the Urban Development Department. Learned Government Pleader submits that Ordinance has been now converted into an Act of legislature. He further submits that in accordance with the amended provisions, first meeting of the elected Councillors will be held.

The learned Senior Counsel appearing for the petitioner, on instructions, submits that the first meeting is called by the President on 30/12/2016.
