Heard Mr. Rajiv Chavan, learned senior counsel for the Petitioner, and Ms. G.P. Mulekar, learned A.P.P. for the Respondent-State.

By this Petition, the Petitioner seeks direction to Respondent No.3 to register the FIR on the basis of his complaint dated 28th December 2016. Petitioner is also seeking direction to Respondent No.2 to provide him police protection. WP-4615-16.doc

So far as the Petitioner's complaint is concerned, we direct Bandra Police Station, Hill Road, Bandra (West), Mumbai, to look into the allegations made in the complaint and make a preliminary inquiry and take appropriate action in accordance with the decision of the Hon'ble Apex Court in the case of Lalita Kumari Vs. Government of U.P. and Ors., AIR 2014 SC 187. The entire exercise shall be completed within a period of seven days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

As far as Petitioner's second prayer regarding providing of police protection is concerned, Petitioner is at liberty to apply to the Protection Branch of Police Commissioner's Office. In the event, such an application is made within a period of one week from today, the same shall be decided as expeditiously as possible and within a period of four days from the date of receipt of the such application, in accordance with the law. 5.
