This petition seeks a direction to the respondents - Union of India to disburse / pay the reward amount which the petitioner is entitled to, for the information made available to the Customs and Directorate General of Revenue Intelligence leading to recovery of duties of Customs. This information was given by the petitioner on the basis of the representation made by the Union of India that on information being provided by the party, leading to recovery of duty, then the party providing the information would be entitled to a reward. 2.

It is the petitioner's grievance that inspite of the Revenue successfully recovering the duties of Customs from parties who were either evading or seeking to evade payment of taxes, the reward due to

In fact, the petitioner's Representations dated 1st February, 2016, 11th May, 2016 and 12th August, 2016 are still pending disposal at the hands of the respondents i.e. the Principal Chief Commissioner of Customs and Directorate General of Revenue, Intelligence.

Mr. Walve, learned Counsel appearing for the respondents, on instructions, states that the Representations dated 1st February, 2016, 11th May, 2016 and 12th August, 2016 would be decided by the Commissioner of Customs (Import), Air Cargo Complex, Mumbai within a period of four weeks from today. This after granting a personal hearing to the petitioner.

In view of the statement made on behalf of the respondents nothing survives in the petition. Therefore, Mr. Pathak, learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner, seeks to withdraw this petition. 5.

Petition is disposed of as withdrawn.
