Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner appointed to espouse the cause of the petitioner and the learned APP for State. The letter dated 19/22-11-2018 addressed by the Jail Superintendent, Nashik Central Prison shows that the State Government has not taken any decision on the question of granting special remission to the petitioner. This fact is accepted by the learned APP on instructions.

Hence, we dispose of the petition by directing the State Government to take appropriate decision on the question as expeditiously as possible and in any event within a period of one month from today.

crwp5483.doc A copy of this order as well as a copy of the decision taken by the State Government shall be forwarded to the petitioner through the Jail Superintendent.
