This is an application for bail and suspension of sentence. The maximum sentence for the offence imposed is rigorous imprisonment of six months and fine of Rs.13,500/-. The fine amount has been paid.

The application for bail and suspension of sentence is opposed by learned APP.

The applicant was on bail during the trial. There is nothing on record to indicate that the applicant has misused his liberty while on bail. Considering the short sentence and as the appeal is not likely to be heard any time soon in near future, I am inclined to suspend the sentence. 1/2

The sentence imposed by the trial Court stands suspended and the applicant shall be released on bail on furnishing P.R. bond in the sum of Rs.15,000/- with one or more sureties of the like amount to the satisfaction of the trial Court.

The applicant shall report to the trial Court once in six months every first Monday of the concerned month between 2.30 p.m. and 3.30 p.m. commencing February 2024. 6.

The application is disposed of.
