The Judge's Order seeks an order for handing over of a fixed deposit receipt to the Applicant. The receipt was kept in the name of the Applicant, then a minor, in pursuance of grant of succession certificate made in the petition. The petition was filed by the mother of the Applicant for succession certificate in respect of a security left by the Applicant's deceased father by an order dated 7 March 2012. The security consisted of the amount secured under an insurance policy. The amount of the policy was deposited by Life Insurance Corporation of India in the Court. A succession certificate was granted to the Petitioner on 21 January 2013. Before the grant, however, by an order dated 7 March 2012, the Accounts Officer was directed to invest a sum of Rs.20,000/- in the name of the Applicant, who was one of the legal heirs Pg 1 of 2

sg jot84-17.doc and next of kin of the deceased, and who was a minor at that time. The Applicant has now become a major and is entitled to receive the amount invested in her name. The birth certificate of the Applicant, along with the certificate of balance issued by the Accounts Officer, High Court Bombay, is produced with the affidavit in support of the Judge's Order. The application, accordingly, deserves to be allowed. A separate Judge's Order is signed allowing the application.
