The petition is presented by the party-in-person seeking a direction against respondent No.1-Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers and Parliamentary Affairs requiring him to resign from his post i.e. relinquish the office of Cabinet Minister. The petitioner is also seeking a writ directing the Union of India to forthwith dismiss respondent no.1 from the post of Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers and Parliamentary Affairs. The petitioner contends that respondent no.1 has uttered certain derogatory remarks, which were widely published in the media. It is further disclosed that respondent no.1 has tendered his apology before the Parliament for the utterances made by him.

On consideration of the petition and the prayers made, as well as after hearing the party-in-person, we are convinced that the prayers made in the petition do not deserve to be granted in exercise of extra-ordinary jurisdiction under Article 226 of the Constitution of India. The petition, according to us, is frivolous and amounts to abuse of process of the Court. Since the petition is presented by the party-in-person, we do not propose to take any further steps.
