The petition is under Section 29-A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act 1996. The parties entered into a construction contract under a Work Order dated 15th May 2012 which provided for arbitration under Clause 25. Disputes arose between the parties. By an order dated 13th July 2018 of this court, Justice Mr S.J. Vazifdar, former Chief Justice of the Punjab & Haryana High Court, was appointed as the sole arbitrator. The learned Arbitrator entered upon the reference to his arbitration shortly thereafter. 20th January 2020

Before the arbitrator, the matter proceeded. The original arbitral mandate expired on 27th July 2019. The parties agreed to an extension of six months. The extended mandate will end on 27th January 2020.

The arbitral proceedings have reached the stage of crossexamination of the Petitioner's witnesses. 4.

Having regard to these circumstances, I am extending the arbitral mandate for a period of one year until 20th January 2021 to complete the arbitral proceedings.

The petition is disposed of accordingly.
