The petition is under Section 29-A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act 1996. Disputes arose between the parties under an agreement between them. On 23rd December 2016, this Court appointed a sole arbitrator to decide these disputes. He entered upon the reference to his arbitration shortly thereafter, and the matter proceeded before him.

After the arbitral mandate ended, it was extended three times by orders dated 9th June 2017, 20th February 2018 and 27th June 2019.

The arbitral proceedings have reached the stage of final arguments.

Having regard to these circumstances, I am extending the arbitral mandate from 27th December 2019 until 30th June 2020 to complete the arbitral proceedings. A request for an even longer extension is refused.

The petition is disposed of accordingly.
