The present proceeding is listed before this Court in the light of the order dated 03.03.2005 passed by this Court in the present petition. By the said petition, the grandmother of the concerned minor child was appointed as the guardian. The petition was made absolute in terms of prayer clauses (a) and (b) and a further direction was given to the Accounts Officer of this Court to deposit the provident fund and gratuity amount in a fixed deposit with any nationalised bank. 2.

On the basis of the additional affidavit of the applicant / deponent, this Court is informed that subsequently, the grandmother expired; the parents of the minor had already expired. Attention of this Court is invited to the copy of the date of birth certificate of the then minor child, which shows that as on today, the applicant i.e. the then minor child has attained majority. The certificate of balance issued by the Accounts Officer of this Court is also annexed and in that light, a specific prayer is made for release of the entire amount lying in deposit with interest in view of the then minor attaining majority.

On the basis of the material on record, this Court is convinced that the prayers can be granted. Accordingly, the Accounts Officer of 1/2
