This petition challenges an order passed by the Estate Officer under the Public Premises (Eviction of Unauthorised Occupants) Act, 1971 ("Act"). The impugned order was passed on an application made by the Petitioners herein under Section 8 of the Act for issuance of a summons to produce evidence. The Estate Officer has rejected the application. The rejection is challenged in the present writ petition. 2.

After the matter is heard at some length, learned Counsel for the Petitioners seeks leave to withdraw the writ petition with liberty Pg 1 of 2

sg wpl288-20.doc to take up all contentions, which form the subject matter of the present petition, in a challenge to the order of eviction, if any, eventually passed against his clients in the proceedings before the Estate Officer.
