Heard learned Counsel for the petitioner and learned Counsel for the respondent.

This is a petition filed under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act,1996 seeking extension of the mandate of the arbitral tribunal for a period of one year which has expired on 12 February 2020. Learned Counsel for the respondent on instructions would state that the respondent would not have objection for the mandate of the arbitral tribunal to be extended.

Accordingly, the mandate of the arbitral tribunal is extended for a period of six months from today. The Arbitral Tribunal shall make an endeavour to conclude the arbitral proceedings and publish an award within the extended period so that there is no need to the parties to apply for further extension.
