The petition is under Section 29-A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act 1996.

There were disputes between the parties in regard to demurrage and detention at discharge port. By an order dated 3rd April 2019, an advocate of this court was appointed as the sole arbitrator. He entered upon the reference to his arbitration shortly thereafter and the matter proceeded before him. 27th February 2020

The arbitral proceedings have now reached the stage of publication of the award after completion of arguments by the parties. The extended arbitral mandate ended on 28th December 2019.

Having regard to these circumstances, I am extending the arbitral mandate until 30th June 2020 to complete the arbitral proceedings.

The petition is disposed of accordingly.
