Counsel tenders copies of all correspondence exchanged between Jurisdictional Assessing Officer (JAO) and petitioner. The letters dated 28th February 2022, 15th March 2022 and 24th March 2022 are taken on record and marked "X (colly)" for identification. The request of the JAO though, we find to be a bit strange because he should certainly have all the papers with him. At the same time, petitioner is directed to file online application in Form 26B as requested by JAO. Mr. Suresh Kumar stated that within a reasonable time the request will be processed and refund orders will be issued, if refund is payable. In our view, two weeks should be a reasonable period.

JAO shall dispose of the application in form 26B within two weeks of its being filed and also ensure that refund is also issued within one week thereafter.
