Heard learned Counsel for the parties.

This is a petition filed under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 (for short, "the Act") whereby the petitioner has prayed for extension of time for a period of six months from 10 March 2020, to enable the arbitral tribunal to complete the arbitral proceedings and publish an award. It is stated that evidence is completed and the arbitral proceedings are at the stage of final hearing.

Learned Counsel for the respondent has no objection for the prayers as made in the petition.

Having perused the averments in the petition, the mandate of the arbitral tribunal to conclude the arbitral proceedings and publish an award is Digitally signed by Prajakta S.

2020.03.16 23:30:03 +0530 required to be extended. Accordingly, the petition is granted in terms of Prajakta S.

Vartak prayer clause (a). Ordered accordingly. The arbitral tribunal shall make an endeavour to conclude the arbitral proceedings and publish an award within the extended period so that there is no need to the parties to apply for a further extension. The parties shall co-operate in the early disposal of the arbitral proceedings.
