The subject matter of controversy in the present petition is cancellation of the Petitioner's performance licence (orchestra) by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, License Department, Mumbai - Respondent No.4 in the present petition. It is not in dispute that the Petitioner's appeal from that order is pending before the Principal Secretary, Home Department - Respondent No.2, who is the appellate authority, together with a stay application.

Learned AGP states that the stay application would be decided within a period of eight weeks from today. 1 / 2

sat wpl 836-2020.doc The appellate authority shall, accordingly, hear and dispose of the Petitioner's appeal or, at any rate, the stay application of the Petitioner, as expeditiously as possible and in any event, within eight weeks from today. Till such stay application is decided, the impugned order dated 5 March 2020 shall not be implemented.

With these directions, the petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
