The petition is under Section 29-A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act 1996. Certain disputes arose between the parties in connection with a contract for certain civil finishes and general work of a proposed building. By an order dated 23rd June 2017, this Court appointed a sole arbitrator to decide these disputes. The sole Shephali Mormare arbitrator entered upon the reference to the arbitration shortly by Shephali Mormare Date: 2020.10.13 09:57:14 +0530 thereafter and the matter proceeded before her. 12th October 2020

After the original arbitral mandate ended, it was extended for six months by mutual consent of the parties. The extended arbitral mandate expired on 7th February 2019. By an order dated 22nd February 2019, this Court extended the arbitral mandate for a period of six months by mutual consent of the parties. By an order dated 19th September 2019, this Court further extended the arbitral mandate for a period of six months. The extended arbitral mandate ended on 18th March 2020.

The arbitral proceedings have reached the stage of completion of oral arguments. A few clarifications are needed before the award is published.

Having regard to these circumstances, and more particularly in view of the current pandemic and various restrictions, I am extending the arbitral mandate until 30th April 2021, to complete the arbitral proceedings.

The petition is disposed of accordingly. No order as to costs. 8.
