The learned counsel for the Union of India states that the writ petition pertains to the election of the respondent No.6 more than 20 years earlier. It is stated that by filing the writ petition, the order passed by the Election Commission of India is challenged. It is stated that due to long lapse of time, the cause for filing the writ petition is rendered infructuous. In view of the aforesaid, we dispose of the writ petition with no order as to costs.
