As previously directed, the minor, Aarushi, was tested for hearing impairment. The audiologist to whom I referred her, Ms. Geeti Char, has been in communication with the social worker Ms. Swaroopa Arora. It seems that reports from Dr. Hegde and from Ms. Vidhi Bhagat of Bhatia Hospital have been made available to Ms. Char. She reports that Aarushi's hearing is within typical limits as demonstrated by two audiological tests (Diagnostic BERA and 15 June 2016

903-FAP-38-2016.DOC OAE). Dr. Hegde has recommended occupational therapy; she believes this would benefit Aarushi. She also recommends guidance to the adoptive parents about the importance of speech language stimulation, i.e., talking to Aarushi in abundance during daily interaction and while doing household chores. The parents are to be encouraged to speak in clear, normal language and words (not baby talk), and in grammatically correct sentences; short ones to begin with, and then gradually increasing in complexity. They must also consult with a qualified speech language pathologist to monitor her speech language development. Dr. Hegde has apparently advised that certain tests be completed because Aarushi had medical issues very early on in her life. All this is noted in Ms. Char's e-mail of 20th June 2016 to Ms. Swaroopa Arora, a copy of which is placed before me. Mr. Kapoor also places a statement signed by both parents confirming that they have accepted and understood these recommendations and the accompanying medical reports. 2.

Given this, and given the parents' undertakings, I am satisfied that the Petition, one that has pending for some time now, should be allowed without further delay. The scrutiny report by Mr. Hareendran, dated 6th May 2016 is taken on record and marked "X1" for identification. The HIV report of the minor has been previously submitted.

Accordingly the Petition is allowed and the Judge's order is separately signed.
