The Petition alleges contempt by the Defendant of two orders dated 16th July 2014 and 10th June 2015 because the Defendant contrary to these orders continued to make statements on social media.

In my order of 3rd March 2017, I noted the Defendant's statement that she had deactivated her Twitter account, not opened another one and had posted nothing connected with this Petition, 30th March 2017

4-CONP58-16.DOC i.e., the Jiah Khan case on any social media platform in any mode at all. I accepted her statement. The Petitioners took time to take instructions.

Mr Kulkarni points out that there is as yet on the internet a report by a magazine called Pink Villa of an interview the Respondent had given earlier. This is not something that is in the control of the Defendant, nor can she remove this. Mr Kulkarni also complains that the Defendant has not shown sufficient contrition or remorse and that an apology should be extracted from her. 4.

These are the reactions of a distraught mother of a daughter who died young in tragic circumstances. This at least must receive some consideration. The statement made by the Defendant/Respondent on the last occasion is enough for me. She made that statement herself. She was personally present in Court on that date.

The contempt notice is discharged.
