This Petition is in respect of adoption of a male minor, Prabhu alias Parth Shaan Mehta. He was born on 9th February 2015. His biological mother relinquished him to the Child Welfare Committee on 19th March 2015. He was then placed in the custody of the Missionaries of Charity, Amravati. He was then transferred to the Petitioner institution on 16th October 2015. He was declared free for adoption.

The adoptive parents are American nationals who hold OCI cards. They lived in Texas, U.S.A. and are 41 and 40 years old respectively, married for the last 11 years, with no biological children of their own. They have one previously adopted child, Sachin Aditya Mehta, who is today about six and half years. He was also adopted from Mumbai. By all accounts, Sachin has thrived under the adoptive parents' guardianship; it is a delight and a pleasure to read of his progress and development in these papers. That is a far more telling and eloquent endorsement of his adoptive parents than anything else in the files.

The adoptive father works as a General Counsel with a corporate. The mother is a Physician at a consultancy in Houston, Texas. Their combined income is substantial.

The scrutiny report dated 18th June 2016 notes that an approval from the US Embassy and a child care arrangement plan were then pending. Mr. Kapoor has these separately compiled today. Mr. Hareendran's scrutiny report is taken on record and marked "X" for identification. The compilation tendered by Mr. Kapoor is taken on record and marked "X2" for identification. The physical examination report of the minor does not indicate any significant issues. His milestones and development are normal. 5.

I see no reason further to withhold the grant of this Petition. 6.
