It would be open for the petitioners to file an application, under Section 70B of the Maharashtra Tenancy and Agricultural Lands Act, 1948, to an appropriate Tenancy Authority for redressal of their grievance. Keeping option open for the petitioners to avail of an alternate remedy, the writ petition stands disposed of.

It is clarified that this Court has not considered the merits of the contentions raised by the petitioners in the instant petition and it would be open for the concerned authority to consider the claim on its own merits and take appropriate decision in accordance with law.
