The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner has placed on record a letter/representation dated 7th October 2016 addressed by the Advocate for the petitioner to the third respondent.

A copy of the representation is placed on record and marked `X-1' for identification. The learned counsel for the petitioner seeks a limited relief of directing the respondents to consider the said representation in accordance with law. This prayer is reasonable and deserves to be accepted. The learned counsel for the respondent has no instructions whether the said representation is decided or not.

oswp3067 Hence, we dispose of the petition by passing the following order:

(I) If the decision is already taken on the representation dated 7th October 2016, the said decision shall be forthwith communicated to the petitioner;

(II) If the said representation is still pending, the appropriate Authority of the first respondent shall decide the same as expeditiously as possible and in any event on or before 31st January 2018; (III) The decision taken on the representation be immediately communicated to the petitioner;

(IV) All contentions of the parties are kept open; (V) Writ petition is disposed of on above terms.
