We have heard learned counsel for Petitioner and learned Government Pleader for Respondents.

On the last date we had observed that though the population of Christian communities is more than 10 Lakhs in the suburban areas of Mumbai, Vasai and other parts, no common Registrar under the provisions of Indian Christian Marriage Act, 1872 is appointed. 3.

Learned Government Pleader has placed on record the appointment of Smt. Pravina Shashikant Borde, Nayab Tehsildar, Tq. Daund, Dist. Pune to be the Registrar of the marriages for the purpose of the Act. It is further submitted that on 25th November, 2022, Mr. J. J. Walvi is appointed as the Registrar of Marriages for the purpose of the Indian Christian Marriage Act, 1872 for Mumbai, Palghar and Thane. 4.

In light of that the grievance of the Petitioner to major extend stands redressed. Writ Petition disposed of. 5.
