Heard learned Counsel for the parties.

This is a petition filed under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 (for short, "the Act") whereby the petitioner has prayed for extension of mandate of the arbitral tribunal for a period of six months to conclude the arbitral proceedings and publish an award. It is stated that evidence of the petitioner-claimant is concluded. The arbitral proceedings are at the stage where the second witness of the respondent is being cross-examined. After the evidence is closed, the parties will advance oral arguments. It is accordingly prayed that mandate of the arbitral tribunal be further extended by a period of 6 months from today.

Learned Counsel for the respondent has no objection for the prayers as made in the petition.

Having heard learned Counsel for the petitioner and having perused the averments as made in the petition, it would be in the interest of justice that extension is granted finally so that the arbitral proceedings are concluded and award is published. The petition is accordingly allowed in terms of prayer clause (a) which reads thus:- (a) that this Hon'ble Court be pleased to extend the period in the above matter for publishing the award by a period of 6 months from 30th June 2019 or for any such period as this Hon'ble Court deems fit in the facts and circumstances of present case, from the date of the order of this Hon'ble Court."
