This is a Petition for adoption of a female minor Hannah born on 07.01.2003. She was an inmate of Missionaries of Charity, Mumbai. The said Missionaries of Charity proposed minor Hannah in guardianship to the petitioners Mr. and Mrs. Patankar vide Indian Guardianship Petition No.92 of 2005. That Petition was granted on 29.06.2005. The said order is annexed at exhibit-A (pages 10 to 12). A perusal of that order shows that undertaking given through Advocate to adopt the minor after two years of their guardianship as per the decision of this Court in the case of Manuel Theodore D' Souza, 2000 (2) Bom.C.R. 244 was recorded.

The petitioners are Christians, Indian Inhabitants residing at Khar (West). Petitioner No.1 is aged about 54 years. Petitioner No.2 is aged about 59 years. Petitioner No.1 is working as a Production Development Executive with Monginis Foods Pvt. Limited, Andheri, Mumbai having gross monthly salary of Rs.41,040/-. His salary slip / certificate and Income Tax Returns are placed on record. Petitioner No.2 is a house-wife. The insurance certificates, bank references, 1/2
IAP9_17.sxw financial / investment documents and proof of residence and property are on record. In pursuance of the order dated 29.06.2005 passed by this Court in Indian Guardianship Petition No.92 of 2005, an amount of Rs.33,321/- in the name of minor Hannah is invested in Jeevan Kishor with Profits with Life Insurance Corporation on 23.07.2005. The said policy is placed on record.

The health report dated 29.03.2017 of the petitioners and the proposed minor Hannah is on record and it states "they are found to be physically as well as mentally fit with all their vital parameters normal (pages 14-16)".

The Adoption Home Study Report dated 23.01.2017 of the adoptive family by the Social Worker of Missionaries of Charity, Vile Parle, Mumbai is on record at pages 36-38 and it states "The couple have been committed parents to Hannah over the past 13 years. They come from humble backgrounds. They are mentally and physically fit and are financially capable to look after their child." 5.
The follow up report dated 01.04.2017 of the minor Hannah is at pages 39 and 40 and it states "Hannah's general health is normal and her immunization on schedule. She is fond of both her parents. Hannah is enrolled in St. Theresa's School in Santacruz and at present, she is in the 9th Standard. Hannah seems to have adjusted to her overall environment.

In view of this and Mr. Hareendran's Scrutiny report dated 26.06.2017, which is taken on record and marked 'X' for identification, Petition is allowed and the Judge's order is separately signed. (R. G. KETKAR, J.) 2/2 Minal Parab
