The Indian Adoption Petition proposes the adoption of a male minor, Sarthak, born on 26th October 2017. His biological mother relinquished him to the Child Welfare Committee, Mumbai on 6th November 2017. On that very day, he was given in custody to the Petitioner Institution.

The Child Welfare Committee has declared Sarthak legally free for adoption following the necessary procedures.

The adoptive parents reside at Dehugaon, Pune. They are 41 and 40 years old respectively. They have been married for the last 15 years. They have one biological son named, Avyukt, who is today 4 years old.

The necessary documents annexed to the Petition are all in place including the decision of the Adoption Committee, motivation letter, affidavit of the Chief Functionary of the Specialized Adoption Agency etc. The health reports of both the parents and the minor are positive and show no abnormalities. The HIV reports are all negative.

The adoptive father was with the Indian Army from 1998 to 2015. He receives a pension of Rs. 25,000/- per month. After April 2018, he works with a private company in Pune with a gross monthly salary of Rs. 31,213/-. The adoptive mother is a teacher in the Army Public School, Dehu with a monthly salary of over Rs. 29,000/-. 6.
The home study report and the assessment of the Social Worker is positive and reports that the adoptive parents are educated, responsible and mature. They are financially secured. The report recommends the adoption. There is a child security undertaking by the brother and sister-in-law of the adoptive mother. Undertaking to look after the minor should the need arise. 7.
I have seen the scrutiny report presented by Mr O Hareendran, Scrutiny Officer of the Indian Council of Social Welfare which is on record.

Since all the documents are in order, I will allow the Petition. The Judge's Order is separate signed.

The Registry will get the Petition with all its annexures and all orders, including the signed Judge's Order, scanned. These digital copies are to be preserved. A soft copy may be given to the Advocate for the Petitioner free of cost on a pen drive provided by the Advocate for the Petitioner for the same. The Registry will ensure that the scan of the Judge's Order is a properly calibrated colour scan.
