The petitioner has tendered an application to the Municipal Corporation seeking appointment on compassionate ground on 21.11.2011. According to the petitioner, she is the second wife of the deceased. Respondent No.2 herein, the first wife of the deceased has also tendered an application seeking appointment on compassionate ground. It has not been disclosed whether the applications tendered by the first and the second wife have been dealt with by the Municipal Corporation and what decision has been rendered. 2.

In the facts and circumstances of the case, the ends of justice would be met by directing the Municipal Corporation to decide the application dated 21.11.2011 tendered by the petitioner seeking appointment on compassionate ground in accordance with the policy prescribed in that behalf and as per law, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of six months from today, if not yet decided and it is accordingly directed. Municipal Corporation shall also communicate the decision to the petitioner.
