This is a petition under section 29A seeking extension of time to complete arbitration proceedings. Pursuant to the sole arbitrator being appointed vide order dated 1 st December, 2016, pleadings have been completed as of 10 th February, 2017. It is case of both parties that thereafter settlement talks were initiated and some time was consumed in this negotiation. However, as submitted by counsel across the bar these negotiations were not fruitful. 2.

The claimant's witness has been examined and cross examined and the claimant's evidence is closed. As far as the respondent is concerned the affidavit of evidence has been filed and the witness is awaiting cross examination by the Advocate for the petitioner. In the circumstances, recording of evidence shall be completed within a period of 6 weeks from today. To facilitate the making of the award, time is extended by three months from today.
