This is an Indian Adoption Petition. It proposes the adoption of a female minor, Arya, born on 27th July 2016. She was found abandoned at Sion Hospital. The Sion Police Station Authorities took charge of her on 9th December 2016 and produced her before the Child Welfare Committee on 17th December 2016 when she was given in safe custody to the Shree Manav Seva Sangh, the Petitioner. 2.

The CWC, Mumbai has since declared her legally free for adoption after following the necessary procedures.

The adoptive parents reside in Kolkata. They are 36 and 44 years old respectively. They have been married for nine years. They have no children of their own. On record are the decision of the adoption committee and the Affidavit of the chief functionary of the Applicant.

The medical report of both parents and the minor are normal and report no adverse conditions.

The adoptive father works as a Senior Manager with Citibank, Kolkata with a monthly net salary of Rs.1,62,556/-. The adoptive mother is an Associate Professor of Political Science with Scottish Church College, Kolkata and has a monthly salary of over Rs.75,000/-.

The Child Care Arrangement Plan declaration is on record and the Assessment report of the social worker recommends the adoption noting a high education and sound financial condition of the parents. There is a child security undertaking by the brother and sister-in-law of the adoptive mother.

I have also seen the scrutiny report presented by Mr O Hareendran, Scrutiny Officer of the Indian Council of Social Welfare which is on record.

In this view of the matter, I will allow the Petition. The Judge's Order is separately signed.

The Registry will get the Petition with all its annexures and all orders, including the signed Judge's Order, scanned. These digital copies are to be preserved. A soft copy may be given to the Advocate for the Petitioner free of cost on a pen drive provided by the Advocate for the Petitioner for the same. The Registry will ensure that the scan of the Judge's Order is a properly calibrated colour scan.
