The present suit concerns a slum rehabilitation/ redevelopment scheme. In a civil appeal carried in another matter involving the same slum rehabilitation scheme, the Supreme Court has passed an order under Article 142 of the Constitution of India issuing directions towards doing complete justice in the matter. These directions inter alia include a direction to the Slum Rehabilitation Authority to invite letters of interest from renowned builders/developers having capacity and experience to take up a large project such as the present one. SRA has been asked to evaluate the proposals and identify the successful bidder. Detailed directions have been given to the authorities concerning matters such as approval and sanction of plans and terms and conditions of the rehabilitation scheme. SRA has been asked to monitor the progress of the scheme to ensure that it is completed in a time bound manner. The Supreme Court has further directed that no court or authority shall pass any order which would in any manner affect the implementation of the 1 / 2

The Supreme Court has lastly observed that all pending litigations shall be disposed of in view of its orders by the courts where the matters are pending. There is no controversy that the present matter is included within the pending litigations referred to by the Supreme Court in its order dated 4 January 2018.
Accordingly, the suit is disposed of as infructuous and the notice of motion does not survive and the same is, accordingly, disposed of. (S.C. GUPTE, J.) 2 / 2
