The Petition was accepted on 6th November 2017 and the proclamation was dispensed with. It was posted thereafter for hearing and final disposal. Heard.

The Petitioner seeks a Legal Heirship Certificate under Section 2 of Bombay Regulation VIII of 1827 in respect of one Sanjay Jayantilal Mehta, who is said to have died intestate in Mumbai on 18th January 2016. He was ordinarily resident of H No. G-6, Meghaji Mansion Jethabhai Lane, Ghatkkopar (East) Mumbai 400 075. A copy of his death certificate is annexed and other identification documents are also enclosed. The deceased was survived by the Petitioner, the deceased's mother, Manjula, and the Petitioner and deceased's married daughter Tanvi Magia. 16th January 2018

The deceased's mother and married daughter have granted consent to the issuance of Heirship Certificate. The deceased left no Will.

The deceased was employed as an Insurance Agent with Star Health and Allied Insurance Co Ltd. That insurance company has asked the Petitioner to produce a Legal Heirship Certificate. Hence this Petition.

No other Petition for a heirship certificate, succession certificate, probate or letters of administration with or without Will annexed has been filed. There is no impediment to the grant of relief.

The petition is made absolute in terms of prayer clause (a) in favour of the persons mentioned in the table below paragraph 4, namely, Shilpa Sanjay Mehta, Manjula Jayantilal Mehta and Tanvi Shrenik Magia.
