This petition is filed under section 58(3) of the Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection of Children) Act, 2015. Shraddhanand Mahilashram and and Copetitioners- Suraj Manjunath and Haripriya Suraj have filed this petition seeking appointment of the co-petitioners as adoptive parents of minor child who is in the care and protection of Shraddhanand Mahilashram and for consequential reliefs of change of name, leave to remove the child from the jurisdiction of this court to reside with the prospective adoptive parents and Municipal Corporation to issue a birth certificate in the changed name. minor girl "Sharanya" was born on 28th July, 2020 and was surrendered by the biological mother on 5th August, 2020 before the Child Welfare Committee. She was admitted to Child Care Institution on 5th August, 2020 which is now proposed to give the child in adoption as per provisions of the Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection of Children) Act, 2015. The Child Welfare Committee declared the minor legally free for adoption on 7th October, 2020. 2.

The prospective adoptive parents are residents of Bengaluru. They already have an adopted son "Samir" aged about 10 years. having obtained order of adoption from New Delhi. They do not have biological children and are desirous of adopting the minor girl to complete their family. 3.

The petition includes medical reports of the prospective adoptive parents and that of the adopted son Master Samir Jamadagni. Statement of adoption of minor Sharanya is executed by both prospective adoptive parents. They are presently seen to be residing in a rental accommodation in Bengaluru.

The prospective adoptive father is a Doctor by profession and his professional earnings are substantial. The prospective adoptive mother is also found to be self employed, financially secure and on that basis I do have any hesitation in concluding that they will be able to ensure comfortable future for the minor child they propose to adopt.

Reference letters are on record which certify the nature of the 2/3

prospective adoptive parents. Child Study report is also found to be satisfactory so is the medical examination report of the minor. The prospective adoptive parents have confirmed the proposed name change. Over all the reports are satisfactory. Having heard Mr. Kapoor in support and having perused the record, I have no hesitation in allowing this application. Accordingly I pass the following order; (i) Petition is made absolute in terms of prayer clause (a) to (d) both inclusive.

(ii) Prospective adoptive parents shall invest a sum of Rs. 3,00,000/- in the name of the child in LIC's Single Endowment Plan No.917 for 18 years. No loan shall be taken on the policy. The petitioner shall file evidence of this fact having been communicated to the LIC in the registry. (iii) Undertakings are accepted.

(iv) Accordingly, Judges order is signed separately. (v) Petition is disposed in terms of the above.
