The Indian Adoption Petition proposes the adoption of a female minor, Unnati. She was born on 6th March 2018. Her biological mother relinquished her to the Child Welfare Committee ten days later on 16th March 2018. She was then in the safe custody of Bal Vikas Mumbai.

Following the necessary procedures, the Child Welfare Committee, Mumbai Suburban District has declared the minor legally free for adoption.

The adoptive parents are Indian nationals. They live in Bangalore. They are 43 and 40 years old respectively. They have been married for the last 14 years but have no children of their own. A copy of the corrected free for adoption order dated 18th May 2018 is tendered by Ms Lalita Jayaraj. It is taken on record and marked "X" for identification. The Affidavit of the Petitioner supporting the adoption, a copy of the minutes of the Adoption Committee of 27th June 2018 and the declaration of willingness of the adoptive parents are all on record.

The health reports of the minor and of the parents show no abnormalities.

The adoptive father works as a Tech Manager with Tech Mahindra Limited with monthly gross salary of Rs.1,66,782/-. The adoptive mother is a Senior Manager with a private limited company with a gross monthly salary of Rs.1,07,793/-. The child care plan letter from the adoptive parents is on record. 6.

The home study report of the social worker recommends the adoption and is entirely positive.

There is a child security undertaking by the adoptive mother's brother and sister-in-law to look after the child should the need arise.

I will, having regard to these circumstances, allow the Petition. The Judge's Order is separately signed.

I have seen the scrutiny report presented by Mr O Hareendran, Scrutiny Officer of the Indian Council of Social Welfare who is unable to attend today, which is on record.

10. The Registry will get the Petition with all its annexures and all orders, including the signed Judge's Order, scanned. These digital copies are to be preserved. A soft copy may be given to the Advocate for the Petitioner free of cost on a pen drive provided by the Advocate for the Petitioner for the same. The Registry will ensure that the scan of the Judge's Order is a properly calibrated colour scan.
