All these writ petitions can be conveniently disposed of by permitting the Petitioners to file an appeal as per the provisions of section 126 of the Electricity Act, 2003. However, for the reasons mentioned in the petitions, the delay caused in filing the appeal is condoned.

2.

Upon payment of 50% of the assessed amount, the Appellate Authority shall dispose of the appeal on merits and in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible. Upon Petitioners depositing the 50% of the assessed amount, the Respondents shall restore the electricity supply of the Petitioners which shall be subject to any order passed in the appeal.
