The petitioner, a child welfare organization and a specialized adoption agency, has proposed to give in adoption male minor child Soham to the prospective adoptive parents, who are both aged about 41 years. They were married in the year 2007 but they do not have biological children. They have decided to adopt a male child to complete their family. Having been registered under the "Carings" portal of CARA, the minor is recommended for adoption 1/3

by the prospective adoptive parents. The child has been declared legally free for adoption by CARA on 14 th December 2020.

The co-petitioners have executed the necessary foster care undertaking since the minor is presently with them under foster care. They have agreed to allow the Social Worker to make periodic visits for follow-up. The prospective adoptive father is working as an Assistant Engineer for the Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company Ltd. The mother was a teacher but has now decided to stay at home to bring up the child. Medical records of the prospective adoptive parents are on record. The prospective adoptive parents have been certified as fit for adoption. Income documents have also been filed on record and are found to be satisfactory. The prospective adoptive parents own two homes in the name of each of the adoptive parents and they appear to be well-settled. The Home Study Report has found the parents suitable for adoption.

The undertaking to look after the child in the event of any unforeseen eventuality has been executed by the elder brother and sister-inlaw of the prospective adoptive father. The Child Study Report is found to be satisfactory so also the medical report of the minor child. The consent, willingness and undertaking of the proposed adoptive parents is on record and overall, the proposal is found to be satisfactory. 3.

In these circumstances, I have no hesitation in allowing this petition. Accordingly, I pass the following order :- 2/3

(i) The petition is made absolute in terms of prayer clauses (a) to (e).

(ii) Prospective adoptive parents shall invest a sum of Rs.1,00,000/- in the name of the child in LIC's Single Endowment Plan No.917 for 18 years. No loan shall be taken on the policy. The petitioner shall file evidence of this fact having been communicated to the LIC in the registry.

(iii) Undertakings are accepted (iv) Judge's Order is signed separately.

(v) The petition is disposed in the above terms.
