This is a petition under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act. The claimant's evidence has been closed. Parties seek extension of time to complete arbitral proceedings. It is stated on behalf of the respondent that the respondent has made application for amendment and that application is now awaiting orders. Meanwhile time to complete arbitration expired on 31 st July, 2018. In the circumstances it is submitted that the recording of evidence of the three remaining witnesses would be completed within a period of six weeks from today. 2.

On behalf of the respondent it is submitted that depending on the order of the amendment application one more witness may need to be examined and in such event further time will be required. In the circumstances, time to complete arbitration proceeding is extended by four months from today. (A.K. MENON, J.)
