The petitioner, in its capacity as a social welfare organization and specialized adoption agency, has presented this petition, under Section 58(3) of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 and Regulation 12(2) of the Adoption Regulations, 2017, along with the copetitioner, as a single adoptive parent, for adoption of the minor female child Sumita, born on 14 th January 2021. The child was surrendered before the Child Welfare Committee, which appears to have carried out the necessary 1/3
evaluation as of January, 2021. The consent, willingness and undertaking of the single prospective adoptive parent is on record. She is employed with the Maharashtra State Power Generation Co. Ltd. as a Junior Engineer and is desirous of adopting the minor. There is an alternate arrangement, which is also on record, wherein the prospective adoptive mother's sister is willing to look after the child upon the adoptive mother resuming her employment. 2.
Assessment Report of the Social Worker is on record. The same appears to be satisfactory, so are the income documents. The recommendations have also been placed on record by colleagues as also the younger sister of the prospective adoptive mother. Her brother has also approved of the proposed adoption. An undertaking is executed assuming responsibility of the child. The Home Study Report and medical examination reports are also found to be satisfactory. The prospective adoptive mother is presently residing in official accommodation and the Child Study Report is also found to be satisfactory. Accordingly, it appears to be a fit case where the child can be given in adoption.

Accordingly, I pass the following order :- (i) Petition is allowed in terms of prayer clauses (a), (b), (c) and (d).
(ii) The prospective adoptive parent shall invest a sum of Rs.1,50,000/- in the name of the child in LIC's Single 2/3
Endowment Plan No.917 for 18 years. No loan shall be taken on the policy. The petitioner shall file evidence of this fact having been communicated to the LIC in the registry.
(iii) Undertakings are accepted (iv) Judge's Order is signed separately.
