The Indian Adoption Petition proposes the adoption of a female minor, Shama. She was born on 3rd February 2018. Her biological mother surrendered her to the Child Welfare Committee, Mumbai Suburban District, on 26th February 2018. She was then given in custody to that institution, St. Catherine's Home, Mumbai. 2.

Following the necessary procedures, the Child Welfare Committee, Mumbai City declared the minor legally free for adoption.

The proposed adoptive parents reside in Bangalore. They are both 42 years old. They have been married for 11 years and have no children of their own.

The health report of the adoptive parents and the minor show no abnormalities.

The motivation letter from the proposed parents, the decision of the Adoption Committee and the Affidavit of the Chief Functionary of the Petitioner are all on record. 6.

The adoptive father works as a Analytics Lead with a private limited company in Bangalore. His monthly gross salary is Rs.3,86,737/-. The adoptive mother is a home maker. The financial documents are in order.

The assessment report with the social worker is positive and recommends the adoption. It shows that the couple is having strong and stable marital life. There is updated home study report which is also positive.

There is a guardianship undertaking dated 28th June 2018 by the sister and brother-in-law of the adoptive father. They live in Chandigarh and agree and undertake to look after the minor should the need arise and in the event of any unforeseen mishap. 9.

The documents being in order, I will allow the Petition. The Judge's Order is separately signed.

10. I have seen the scrutiny report presented by Mr O Hareendran, Scrutiny Officer of the Indian Council of Social Welfare, which is on record.

11. The Registry will get the Petition with all its annexures and all orders, including the signed Judge's Order, scanned. These digital copies are to be preserved. A soft copy may be given to the Advocate for the Petitioner free of cost on a pen drive provided by the Advocate for the Petitioner for the same. The Registry will ensure that the scan of the Judge's Order is a properly calibrated colour scan.
