The Indian Adoption Petition proposes the adoption of a male minor, Jay. He was born on 24th February 2018. His biological mother relinquished him to the Child Welfare Committee, Mumbai Suburban District, on 27th February 2018. The Petitioner institution received safe custody by an order of the Child Welfare Committee dated 27th February 2018.

Following the necessary procedures, the Child Welfare Committee, Mumbai City declared Jay legally free for adoption.

The Affidavit of the Petitioner in respect of the adoption is on record. The minutes of the adoption committee are also on record. The adoptive parents live in Nagpur. They are 48 and 39 years respectively. They have been married for the past 11 years since 19th February 2007. They have no children of their own. 4.
The health report of the adoptive parents and the minor show no abnormalities. The HIV reports of all three are negative. 5.
The adoptive father works as a Deputy General Managerbusiness Development with Confidence Petroleum India Ltd, Nagpur. His monthly gross salary is Rs. 88,700/-. The adoptive mother is a home maker. She has a part-time business as an insurance agent and earns commissions. For the Assessment Year 2017-2018, her annual income was 2,98,081/-.

The assessment report by the social worker is positive and recommends the adoption. There is a child security undertaking dated 3rd July 2018 by the adoptive father's brother and sister-inlaw. They too reside in Nagpur. They agree and undertake to look after the minor should the need arise.

The documents being in order, I will allow the Petition. The Judge's Order is separately signed.

I have seen the scrutiny report presented by Mr O Hareendran, Scrutiny Officer of the Indian Council of Social Welfare, which is on record.

The Registry will get the Petition with all its annexures and all orders, including the signed Judge's Order, scanned. These digital copies are to be preserved. A soft copy may be given to the Advocate for the Petitioner free of cost on a pen drive provided by the Advocate for the Petitioner for the same. The Registry will ensure that the scan of the Judge's Order is a properly calibrated colour scan.
